What Does He Want?
When I first started getting back into public after losing my sight, I quickly learned one of the annoyances of blindness: service personnel addressing my sighted friend, not me.
It took a few years(and I hope the world has gotten a little more used to blind folks), but I learned to take control of the situation. When the waitress walks up and says, “Hi, guys! My name iss Amy. How you guys doing today?”I make sure I answer and return some kind of question. Usually, “Doing great! How about yourself?”
See? That immediately makes a
