Marcus programs: Free and open to the public!

 In Blog

Most times when I’m booked to speak somewhere, it’s a closed event. This isn’t to be purposefully exclusive…it’s just that there’s usually a limited number of seats. The sponsoring org obviously wants their people to get to hear the Marcus message and their people get first dibs.

But, if you’re on the eastern half of Missouri, I’d like to alert you to a couple of my programs that are free and open to the public. Again, these are kinda rare, so I hope you can take advantage of one of ‘em!

Two weeks from today, Friday, October 19, 2012 at 7 p.m. I’ll be speaking at my home church, St. John’s United Church of Christ in High Hill, MO. It’s my home church’s 125th anniversary and there are several different events over that weekend. Personally, I’m excited about doing a program that’s out of my norm. The audience will be those from my church, of course, but also from the community in which I was raised. To be quite honest, I’m not even sure what I’m going to talk about yet!

Now, High Hill, Missouri, isn’t exactly a booming megalopolis. There are only two churches in this town of 250 souls. St. John’s UCC is the one that looks like Noah’s Ark. Or a Pizza hut in 1977. If you find a church that does NOT resemble a spaceship in some form…you’re probably at the wrong place. Drive around the one street in town for another 30 seconds and you’ll find it.

The very next day, Saturday, October 20, I’ll be speaking at First Congregational UCC in Webster Groves, MO. The event runs from 3-5 p.m. I’ll be speaking for the first hour or so, then there’ll be some breakout session times for reflection and expansion on my program. Again, this event is open to the public and the only fee for admission is bringing a new school supply that can be provided for local children in need. The event is called “Change The Things You Can” and you can also find it on Facebook.

Hope to see you at one of these two events!
