Nursing Novellas by Amy Glenn Vega…and Some Marcus fiction, too!

 In Blog

Okay, so you know yours truly writes non-fiction, right? But, did you also know that your humble author has also delved into a bit o’ fiction? True story!

In the summer of 2011, I became acquainted with author Amy Glenn Vega after we both presented at the National Nursing and Staff Development Organization convention in Chicago. Amy is the author of Nursing Novellas, a series of fictional books where the main characters are all nurses. While these books are entertaining, there’s a major bonus benefit: nurses can get continuing ed units for reading them! Check out:

for info on all Amy’s titles and how you, the nursing professional, can help your education and get those necessary continuing education units, to boot.

When we first started E mailing, Amy was finishing up work on her latest Nursing Novella, “Through Other Eyes.” In this one, one of Amy’s characters is a fisty patient who also happens to be blind. Amy asked for my suggestions and review of the manuscript to help make the character the most textured and real. I was more than happy to oblige!

After my help with “Through Other Eyes”, Amy and I came to a logical conclusion: we should write together! My non-fiction writing is almost all autobiographical, so for Amy to propose we work on some fiction together was a little out of my comfort zone. But hey, I’m up for a challenge!

Over the next couple months, Amy and I created a novelette called, “Open.” With a nursing theme, “Open” even has a bit of a love story thrown in with a couple of the characters. Nothing TOO taudry…this ain’t 50 Shades of, oh, whatever!

Anyway, “Open” was released about this time last year and  immediately (and currently is) #1 in Nurse & Patient publications on Amazon.com. Amy and I are again offering “Open” for free electronic download via Amazon. Go here to get yourself some holiday reading fun:

And Amy’s Nursing Novellas Facebook author page is

If you ‘like’ the page and post a comment that ‘Marcus sent me,’ you’ll be entered in a drawing for a free autographed novella!

There is also a free Nursing Novellas holiday story which is authored by Amy.  The Reluctant Santa is available as a pdf for free download here:

As always, with “Open”, we’d appreciate any reviews you’d care to give on Amazon. And while you’re at it, throw some Marcus love her way with her other titles, too!
