Adventist University of Health Sciences

 In Blog

On February 1, I had the honor of keynoting for Adventist University of Health Science’s nursing convocation. This was here in Orlando and, while I love to travel, it’s also pretty nice to wake up in my own bed on days when I’m presenting!

The bulk of the audience was comprised of nursing students; a group I love to present for b/c it mixes my two loves of health care and higher education. Plus, Adventist U. titled the day, “I’m Here.” Love it when I get to share that message of how simple and powerful it is for health care pros to just be present for the patient.

Hope to have some photos up soon from the event, including #blindguypictures on Twitter! I wanted to take this blog post to say a public thank you again to Dr. Jan Preston, Vanessa Clark and others who made my part of the day so easy. More than anything, though, I want to thank the Adventist Universing nursing students for being such a great audience! And, I had a first….

After the presentation, I overheard two nursing students are going to be getting tatted with “I’m Here” on their wrists! If I can give a message that’s worth inking, well, that just makes me really happy!

Thank you again, everyone, for such a special day! Y’all have my contact info and if there’s anything I can do for you personally, professionally or academically, please let me know!
